The Sales Engineer is a member of the commercial sales team serving as the endotoxin product expert and technical lead on major sales opportunities for the Sievers Eclipse endotoxin platform. The person in this position will be instrumental in supporting the sales team through the sales cycle, including discovery, opportunity evaluation, proof of concept support, equipment demonstrations, and opportunity closure. This role will support the sales teams with client meetings and presentations; working with prospects to devise solutions; and providing customer feedback and input into the product development cycle. Furthermore, this position will be responsible for new equipment start-up and validation services in the West and will be responsible for training new customers on the Eclipse platform. The west region includes California, Oregon, Washington, Arizona, Utah, Idaho, Montana, Colorado, New Mexico, Texas, Oklahoma, Arkansas, Mississippi, Alabama, Tennessee, Missouri, Kansas, Nebraska, Iowa, South Dakota, Minnesota, North Dakota, and Canada. They are self-motivated, strategic and customer focused. They have strong communication and interpersonal skills, manages their time well, enjoys collaborative problem-solving and is results oriented. They are able to handle multiple priorities in a fast-paced life science industry and are looking to be the face of an innovative and growing division with opportunities for career growth.Duties & ResponsibilitiesBe the subject matter expert in customer meetings with deep technical product knowledge while providing pre- and post-sales customer technical supportPerform endotoxin equipment demonstrations and make technical sales-oriented presentations to customer's technical staff and senior managementPerform endotoxin equipment installations and validation services at customer sitesAssist customers in configuring and testing products and networks in lab and field trialsProvide expertise on technical issues and be a key customer support contact for clients providing technical assistance and product educationWork with customers to design solutions to their needs and conduct technical customer training sessionsParticipate in strategic and tactical account planning with members of the sales teamKnowledge, Skills & Abilities Experience with analytical instruments, specifically endotoxin testingExperience in the pharmaceutical industry (GMP experience preferred)Excellent communication skillsStrong interpersonal and customer focused skillsIn-depth knowledge of the industrial applications for product lines and marketsStrong team playerExcellent problem-solving skillsSelf-motivatedExcellent time management and organizational skillsEducation & ExperienceRequired:Bachelor's degree in biology, biochemistry, or life sciences discipline 5 years or more domain expertise with pharmaceutical water and product quality testing, specifically endotoxin and bioburden Valid driver's license Preferred:5 years or more sales engineer, or product management work experience within the bio-detection/pharmaceutical industry Working Conditions (Specify % of travel involved if applicable, physical conditions, interaction with any hazardous material, work environment, etc.) Domestic and international travel: Up to 70% Ability to lift/carry up to 45lbs Will be working in labs and could be around some chemicals and biological samplesAt SUEZ, we realize diverse teams make smarter decisions, deliver better results, and build stronger communities.
