What you will be doing:The Delivery Specialist- Chemical Tanker will drive a tractor-trailer combination capacity up to 80,000 GVW, to transport and deliver hazardous and non-hazardous materials in bulk or packaged form. You will be required to load and unload tanker, & Chem-Flex van trailer.Key ResponsibilitiesAs the Delivery Specialist- Chemical Tanker, you will: Ensure proper loading and unloading of cargo; adhere to weight limits and ensure proper utilization of company equipment.Comply with Company policies and procedures, Health and Safety procedures, Department of Transportation and Hazardous Materials/Waste requirements and regulations.Complete daily scheduled deliveries and services in a timely manner.Highest attention towards customer and client satisfaction by providing excellent service always.Complete and maintain all required paperwork and documentation properly within set timelines; this includes daily logs, dispatch and trip reports, demurrage and time sheets.Follow all local, provincial and federal compliance regulations and rules.Perform pre and post trip inspections, follow company policies and procedures for routine maintenance, perform general housekeeping to ensure units are operating properly and report any deficiencies to Supervisor.Report vehicle defects, accidents, traffic violations, or damage to the vehicles; be responsible for scheduling both preventative and unplanned maintenance Work with scheduler, customer sites, inventory planners to obtain delivery instructions and schedule unloading QualificationsHigh School Diploma/GEDValid Class 1 driver's license with a clean driver abstractMinimum of 5 years of experience with AZ / Class 1 Driver's License, hazardous materials transportation and driving a tractor-trailer combination unit.Ability and willingness to possess and maintain a Commercial Driver's License AZ/Class 1 with Hazmat endorsement. First aid, H2S, as well as customer site and orientation requirements.Knowledge of chemical handling equipment, pumps and compressors for offloadingCapable to operate tandem - tandem, combination unitsDemonstrate a commitment to environmental compliance and safe work practicesAbility to work in extreme climates, remote locations, and heavy industrial settings.Ability to work independently with strong organizational skills, while managing time and productivityMust be capable of performing physical duties (lifting, bending, climbing, kneeling, crouching)Strong reliability, punctuality and integrityAbility and willingness to travel up to 50% of the time, as required. PAID COMPANY HOTEL AND MEALS (no sleeping in truck)Desired characteristics:All weather driving experience (heat, snow, ice, hail, sleet, rain, fog) Mountain driving experience.Experience with Freightliner or Kenworth tractor equipmentExcellent communication and documentation skills Attention to detail and math skills Strong computer skills Ability to wear a respirator per customer requirementsPosition is based from Edmonton AB and make deliveries to Fort McMurray and western Canada.
