Summary/Purpose:The Environmental Health & Safety Technician will coordinate the activities of the site in regard to EHS, ensuring that Production, Maintenance and other shop floor activities are harmonized with EHS and Compliance guidelines. Assists in Regeneration, Production and Maintenance activities as needed.Essential Responsibilities:Provide EHS input to Site Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) Manager and Plant Manager.Provide leadership, technical support, training, and project management for the development of plant-wide environmental, health, and safety programs. Assure interface and integration between assigned business teams, medical center, and business-level EHS group. Interact with diverse teams of production/maintenance and management employees. Build positive relationships with all team members.Integrate safety and care for employee health and safety, as well as the environment, into all aspects of managing the business.Assist with the development and execution of EHS annual plans as well as framework validations.Provide technical resources, EHS data analysis, and interpretation of regulations.Assists with Regeneration and Maintenance activities on the shop floor as needed.Works closely with Element owners to become knowledgeable and guide shop floor activities harmonizing EHS and compliance.Creates, writes and reviews SRA's. Educates employees on SRA's and procedures prior to commencing work.Audit for compliance to regulatory and company requirements.Qualifications/Requirements:High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent. At least one year of experience with manufacturing environments, lean manufacturing, and six sigmaDesired CharacteristicsAt least 2 years of recent professional work experience in an EHS Role.Strong team building, oral and written communication, and problem-solving skillsStrong oral and written communication skillsStrong interpersonal and leadership skillsAbility to interface effectively with all levels within the company as well as organizations outside of SUEZ (regulatory agencies)Established program management abilityWork experience at a VPP star worksiteStrong analytical skills including advanced Root Cause determination skillsPowered Industrial Truck Training experience Knowledge of environmental regulationsKnowledge of Health and Safety regulationsPrior experience in process / industrial engineeringWe offer competitive compensation and benefits working in a dynamic environment with challenging projects and training provided to ensure your success.We realize diverse teams make smarter decisions, deliver better results, and build stronger communities.
