Overview / Responsibilities Wood is currently recruiting for a Piping Materials Piping Engineer with extensive experience in the Oil & Gas, Petrochemical or similar sector of the industry to provide support to our Client in the execution of projects. Key Accountabilites & Responsibilities: Have a thorough understanding of project requirements in the field of piping specifications e.g. exotic material requirements, suitability and design principles of components etc. Specialist knowledge and understanding in: Piping Reference data MSD's (Material Selection Diagrams) DPTD's (Design Pressure Temperature Design Diagrams) Development of pipe specifications Generation of pipe classes Development of TBE's Codes for design of piping components as well as testing methods Will be representing piping materials and specifications on projects. Specialist engineer who works unsupervised. Will anticipate problems before they occur and seek to manage problems in a controlled and analytical manner to the satisfactory of all main parties. Prepare requisition index for special piping items, indicating planned issue date for each requisition. Update and reissue monthly. Prepare general notes requisitions or purchasing requirements for piping. Review flowsheets for correctness of depicting piping and material. Generate piping bulk requisitions from MTO. Generate special piping item requisitions. Prepare technical bid analysis for piping bulks as well as special piping items. Check piping bulk technical evaluations from MTO. Prepare SOQ from the MTO. Assist Procurement Department with the expediting of supplier documents. Advise the Chief Piping Engineer of any technical problems and unresolved differences with other groups. Co-ordinate with Procurement Department and ensure certified drawings are available in time to meet the engineering schedules. Advise the Project Lead Piping Engineer of circumstances considered to be subject to contract change. Skills / Qualifications Qualifications: BSc, BEng, BTech 5 Year minimum experience Knowledge, skills and experience: Preference - SmartPlant Reference Data Personal attributes: Initiative - Grasps new or unfamiliar concepts quickly and can effectively deal with complexity and ambiguity.
