Job Description
 
The training administrator administers, organizes and conducts company training programs for clerical, supervisory, technical and lower-level management personnel. This position has limited decision-making since problems can generally be evaluated in terms of defined procedures or precedents. The training administrator assesses several elements and alternatives, which involve minor research. This position modifies methods and procedures or plans and establishes new methods and procedures. This role trains new employees and assists lower-level personnel.
Essential functions

Researches, plans, organizes and conducts training programs, seminars and conferences for clerical, supervisory, technical and lower-level management personnel.
Writes material for new training programs; reviews, evaluates and modifies existing and proposed programs; recommends appropriate changes.
Assists with preparing and administering various training programs.
Administers and evaluates training program qualification tests and determines eligibility of prospective attendees.
Prepares and distributes training aids such as instructional material, handouts, evaluation forms and visual aids; sets up audio-visual equipment and makes presentations when necessary.
Contacts attendees and department representatives about training program.
Schedules the appropriate classroom and prepares the physical setup.
Follow all Company policy and procedures.
Other duties and special projects as assigned.
Ensure that personal behaviors and work practices are in line with Company safety standards.
Responsible for safety of self and others in the vicinity to include, but not limited to, employees, vendors and guests.
Provide visible leadership engagement, be aware of housekeeping and take additional safety precautions to ensure no one is put at risk.
Do not take short cuts or unnecessary risks and actively work with others to ensure they take due care and do not put themselves or others at risk.
Ensure all incidents are reported and appropriately investigated in accordance with Company procedure.
As needed, seek advice from HSE representative.

Additional functions

Partners with management and other functions to ensure that the Company's training and competency processes and requirements are completed in a timely manner.
Collect education, training and professional development documentation for all employees and enter into a Learning Management System (LMS).
Verify training certifications for all personnel prior to site mobilization.
Responsible for the tracking of employee training and competency.
Produce reports on training statistics and create and manage regular critical certification expiry reports.
Identify and communicate to management areas of concern where training and key performance indicators' (KPIs) are not being met.
Provide training attendance records to Payroll for processing.
Responsible for the development and maintenance of training road maps associated with Parker Drilling Canada workforce.
Ensure training road map is consistent with Company, Client and Regulatory Requirements.
Conduct routine assessment on training providers to ensure they are compliant with meeting course requirements and training standards associated with Parker Drilling.
Develop and implement a quality program to ensure 3rd party training providers are meeting expectations
Review third party training cost on an annual basis and provide a summary report to supervisor.

Required Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience 3-5 years
Preferred Master's Degree
CPLP Certifications preferred

Experience within the Oil and Gas sector and Drilling Contractors is preferred
Must have ability to maintain high standards of confidentiality, accuracy and timeliness
 Must be detail oriented, self-starter and able to work with little supervision while maintaining quality
Must have good computer skills to include all Microsoft Office products with extensive knowledge of Word, Excel and PowerPoint • Experience with a Learning Management System • Must have good written and verbal communication skills and be able to effectively communicate with staff, management, customers, union and vendors
