An opportunity is available to join a well-established, very active, oil and gas operating company in the role of Senior Reservoir Engineer based in Brisbane.
The purpose of the role will be to provide high quality and timely reservoir engineering deliverables that maximise the value of existing assets in the Company's portfolio and support investment decision for growth opportunities.
The successful candidate will join an excellent, multi-disciplinary, subsurface team with a primary focus on conventional assets, secondary focus on unconventional assets and additional opportunity to work on 'new energy' assets.
Responsibilities will include;
Developing and maintaining appropriate models (analytical and/or simulation) for use in reservoir management, production optimisation and development planning
Delivering short-term and long-term production forecasts
Evaluate development scenarios, well locations, recovery mechanisms, concept selection and reservoir engineering input to future reservoir models in order to create optimised development plans under uncertainty
Work with third parties to support reserves certification
Day-to-day reservoir management
Advise on well data gathering programs and analyse results in exploration, appraisal and development wells including but not limited to SCAL, pressure, permeability, stress data and fluid compositions
Suitable applicants will have;
Tertiary qualification in Petroleum Engineering or related field
10 years + experience within the petroleum industry
Prior experience of working for an oil and gas operating company
Experience in both conventional and unconventional reservoirs
Expert application of numerical and analytical reservoir modelling methods
Working knowledge of SPE Petroleum Resources Management System (PRMS)
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
A salary range of $200,000 - $235,000 + Bonuses is available for this role, dependent on skills and capabilities.
