Overview / Responsibilities Wood Process and Energy Europe and Africa have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Project Manager with extensive experience across several industries e.g. pharmaceutical, FMCG, oil and gas, petrochemical , to manage an EPC Contract. This is a permanent role, based on a client s Pharmaceutical site in Ware, Herfordshire, and requires demonstrable experience in a similar EPC role. This candidate must understand and fully comply with all company policies and procedures, specifically safety (Injury and Incident Free) and Corporate Code of Conduct. You must understand and have the ability to effectively plan and schedule, project life-cycle events and general sequence of events and process for engineering, procurement, construction, commissioning and project management project tasks. Responsibilities and Duties Ensuring a strong Health, Safety and Environment culture is instilled at all levels of the Contract Team. Supporting the management team of the Contract (HSSEA, QA, PMs, Construction, Commercial) to ensure they can provide the best possible service/support to the client Project execution and governance compliance Overall delivery of all elements of the projects in line with the Contract and following the relevant policies, procedures, and corporate Code of Conduct. Production and issue of a Contract Execution Plan, to align with most effective ways of working Development and issue of Contract Risk Register, ensuring it is frequently updated to reflect current risks Contributing innovation/value engineering to the client as part of a 'best in class' offering to the client. Monitoring and control of Contract performance/KPIs, with a focus on leading indicators. Working with the client to ensure future years annual spend targets and scopes are frozen, to maximise delivery opportunity/success. Achieving a consistent approach across the portfolio of projects Maintaining cost, schedule, risk and change management awareness by all project personnel throughout all phases of project execution Manage annual CAPEX plan from client and ensure successful execution Preparation of monthly reports to the client Oversight of all projects with technical teams to deliver them on schedule and budget, and meeting the technical needs of clients and regulatory agencies, as applicable Liaise regularly with client project managers / Directors, technical teams, internal accounting teams, and external clients financial teams. Work with internal and external stakeholders to plan projects (scope, schedule and budget) Assemble and use project monitoring systems, including available financial tools and reports Develop and implement project support plans (health and safety, quality, risk management, communication, documentation, and financial) Understand and adhere to project and contractual terms and conditions Act as primary client contact Skills / Qualifications Approproate Degree / HNC in Engineering or Construction Management is prefferred Project Management Professional (PMP) designation or equivalent accreditation in project management (e.g., PRINCE2, Agile, Six Sigma) Minimum 10 years of overall experience managing mid to large scale projects, for EPCm and Construction Management areas including managing sub-contractors. Demonstrable experience and proven ability to lead EPC project teams to produce quality deliverables safely, on time and within budget Ability to manage multiple project phases, from initial proposal, project definition and cost estimate to project delivery Strong client interface skills and the ability to work well in an EPCm environment Ability to set up and manage a project control system Must be able to demonstrate direct responsibility of construction and completions commissioning Experience at managing Trade Unions and successfully managing a Blue Collar workforce Strong understanding of the importance of health and safety in projects Demonstrated experience with project financial tracking, and change management related to scopes of work; strong knowledge of Project Management Systems Experience in identifying project risks and assisting with developing and maintaining risk registers Skills related to project planning, numerical tracking and analysis (e.g., using MS Excel or similar programs) Highly organized, adaptable, a developing leader, and calm under pressure Company Overview Wood is a global leader in consulting and engineering across energy and the built environment, helping to unlock solutions to some of the world's most critical challenges.
