Overview / Responsibilities Wood (trading locally as WOOD KSS JSC) is currently looking for a Lead Civil/Structural Engineer to join our team in Atyrau (KZ passport holders). Responsibilities: Responsible for the management of Civil/Structural Discipline Responsible for structural analysis, design, specification and services related to concrete and steel structures for pipe racks, pipe bridges, buildings, and all types of oil-field infrastructure Check calculations and designs by National engineers and provide feedback to encourage them to improve their engineering skills Provide engineering input to Basis of Design, Design Reports and FEED studies Supervise preparation of Job Packs and Material Requisitions Independently applies advanced engineering techniques, makes decisions on engineering problems and methods, and represents the organization in conferences to resolve important questions or to negotiate with key engineers and officials of other organizations Provides technical guidance to designers and less experienced engineers and is consulted extensively by associates and others Provides mentoring and training to National engineers Will have demonstrated creativity, foresight, and mature engineering judgment in anticipating and solving engineering problems efficiently and economically. Will usually be a Licensed/Chartered Professional Engineer Typical work scope for the Civil/Structural group includes: steel pipe-racks, and bridges, access stairs and platforms, buildings, reinforced concrete foundations and below ground structures, earthworks, roads, drainage, and occasional architectural work As the Lead, plans, budgets, organizes, coordinates and controls the project and is responsible for employee performance appraisals and for coaching and developing lower level professionals Skills / Qualifications Undergraduate degree in Civil or Structural Engineering Minimum of 10 years related experience, with average experience ranging from 20+ years Excellent Communication Skills Good English is essential Company Overview Wood is a global leader in engineering and consultancy across energy and the built environment, helping to unlock solutions to some of the world's most critical challenges.
