Overall Purpose of the Job:
Responsible for the security of assets, operations, escorts duties, guard personnel and GSF who work for
Seplat Energy Plc at the Lagos and Abuja offices.
Principal Accountabilities:
1. Develop and implement cost effective security measures and procedures to mitigate against risks to
Seplat’s assets, business operations and personnel in Lagos and Abuja in line with business goals.
2. Gather and share intelligence with relevant internal and external stakeholders to ensure that assets,
personnel and operations are protected from crime, violence and other business-related risks within
Lagos and Abuja.
3 Coordinate the provision of Security services for Senior Management and other designated VIPs as
may be directed by the Security Coordinator, Lagos or the Corporate Security Manager.
4. Implement procedures for the effective management of security related emergencies and crises to
support business continuity.
5. Provide the Security Coordinator, Lagos and Corporate Security Manager and relevant
stakeholders with regular intelligence and management reports to guide decisions on security
issues.
6. Manage relationship with government security agents (GSAs), internal and external stakeholders
and other security service providers within his AOR in order to ensure Seplat Energy Plc derives the
highest standards of security services while complying with the Voluntary Principles on Security and
Human Rights (VPSHR).
7. Support the development and defence of annual Security budgets corporately.
8. Supervise the implementation of security plans, standards and procedures within his AOR (Lagos
offices and Abuja) to ensure incident free operations.
9. Support the development of Security Contract plans and manage all security contracts within his
AOR.
10. Support the investigation of security incidents, handle security audits ensure implementation of
recommended actions within his AOR.
11 Develop and manage Security Risk Assessments, Security Plans and other security related SOPs
in AOR
c) Immediate Subordinates: Security Guards, Lagos.
Job Context and Main Activities:
 
• Security threats to oil and gas personnel and operations as well as the increasing threats of insurgency,
armed robberies and kidnapping for ransom continue to pose challenges to investments in Nigeria.
• To achieve the objectives of a secure work and living environment, the Security Supervisor, Lagos is
required to interface regularly with internal and external stakeholders in order to respond adequately to
the risks facing the company and implement cost-effective risk mitigation measures.
• The Security Supervisor, Lagos is domiciled at the Corporate Headquarters to deliver quality security
services to multi-faceted customer base while networking for intelligence and undertaking wide ranging
tasks and activities to keep the assets and personnel protected.
Job Knowledge and Qualifications:
Good knowledge of Security Management in industrial setting. A minimum of 5 years security experience
at least 2 of which must have been on a supervisory position in an oil and gas company.
A good bachelor’s degree.
