Overview:The role operates across three UK locations and 4 businesses of the same groupSpend responsibility for €30M per annum across a range of engineering services and materialsSome UK travel The post holder is responsible for; Delivering best competitive advantage for the UK businesses the department supports, by driving the performance of and levering best value from suppliers and contractorsProviding leadership for the Buyers and Purchasing Assistant to ensure the team deliver a robust and cost efficient serviceKey accountabilities:Management of suppliers and commercial arrangementsManagement of 2 Buyers and Purchasing Assistant and associated activities within the departmentManagement of the supplier review processDeliver continuous performance improvement within the procurement function Key skills and knowledge:Degree in an engineering discipline is preferred or CIPS Advanced DiplomaAt least 10 years experience in managing contractor/supplier interfaces with end user maintenance activitiesStrong knowledge of diverse markets relevant to maintenance activities for a major chemical companyCapability to lead a multifunctional team of engineers and end users at all levels on procurement projects and initiativesHighly organised and able to prioritiseDetailed experience of technical engineering issues and requirementsThorough understanding of different types of contractual arrangements and their applicationStrong negotiation skillsResults orientated with a focus on delivery and costInfluencing and challenging skillsGood interpersonal skills and relationship buildingWith over 90 years' combined experience, NES Fircroft (NES) is proud to be the world's leading engineering staffing provider spanning the Oil & Gas, Power & Renewables, Infrastructure, Life Sciences, Mining, Automotive and Chemicals sectors worldwide.With more than 100 offices in 45 countries, we are able to provide our clients with the engineering and technical expertise they need, wherever and whenever it is needed.
