Responsibilities Weatherford has a very exciting opportunity for an experienced Environmental Engineer - Carbon Reduction Specialist to join the team. As an influential member of the Corporate Sustainability team, the Environmental Engineer - Carbon Reduction Specialist leads internal stakeholders in executing the organizations goal of Net Zero Emissions by 2050. This encompasses collaborating with and coaching multi-skilled, interdepartmental stakeholders such as R&D/Product Engineers, Service Delivery leads, HSE Professionals, peer Sustainability team members and business leaders in the domain of Greenhouse Gas (GHG) emissons and environmental calculations, including but not limited to Life Cycle Analysis, GHG inventories, product and facility footprint modelling calculations, resource consumption and waste streams. This also includes supporting the identification of improvement opportunities, including Weatherford's road map to Net Zero, as well as supporting our customers in attaining their climate goals. DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: Working with internal and external stakeholders as appropriate to execute and coach on the calculation of climate related metrics and opportunties, using globally and industry accepted methods (i.e., GHG Protocol, IPIECA, ISO, SBTi, etc). Development of business process for the collection and tracking of climate related data, Scope 1,2 & 3 emissions, including guidance on best practice for facility and operational emissions/carbon reduction strategies. Supporting environmental contributions to Sustainability/ESG disclosures and customer reporting. Monitor trends and benchmark best-in-class GHG calculation practices. Recommend enhancements to Weatherford's data collection and reporting methods. Recommend ranking/monitoring strategy for the company, working closely with internal stakeholders. Report on progress, benchmark indices, and identify gaps to the Director of Sustainability; recommending ESG program improvements for key functions and businesses partners to advance progress and recognition. Support the management of project budgets, schedules, action and workplans, and resources to project completion. Support the company's annual Sustainability reporting process, working across the organization and with internal and external partners to collect data, write strategic narratives, edit, and publish the report, and applicable disclosures. Support ensuring that environmental data and supporting data systems are accurate and timely in their provision to the company and auditable to support the changing requirements. Contribute to, or lead the development and implementation standards, guidelines programs and measurable KPIs for areas as applicable to address their scopes of work in order to meet the overall ESG strategy. Identify and communicate best practices to allow the ESG Governance Committee to work effectively and efficiently in their engagements with sub-committees, any other groups, agencies, clients and the Board of Directors. Supports the promotion and raising awareness, at all levels of the organization, of the impact of emerging environmental issues across the ESG space. Works hand in hand with HSE to align with traditional environmental requirements and adapting that data to feed ESG goals. Support the management/performance tracking efforts of applicable contractors/3rd party groups supporting ESG disclosures and annual reporting activities. Supports the Sustainability Director with ongoing stakeholder environmental communications, including but not limited to operational, executive leadership and Board of Director reviews to promote progress updates, alignement and understanding of changing regulations, guidance and Weatherford plan of action in ESG. Maintains effective communications with all key stakeholders both internal and where appropriate external. Interface with offices globally in support of disclosures clients and projects if required. Assist with customer questionnaires as it relates to corporate sustainability. Support the implementation of specific sustainability requirements from contracts. Supports the Sustainability Director with the development and management of any sustainability costs and financial implication. Builds reputable business cases for improvements, calculating ROI and payback periods. Translate climate reductions into profit to support project funding. Supports the development and delivery of training courses and awareness raising communications for a range of environmental & sustainability/ESG issues. Provides coaching and mentoring to support career development to direct, and where appropriate, indirect team members in the Sustainability/ESG space. Supports any location-specific regulatory sustainability education and training programs and requirements. Completes all assigned Compliance & Company Standards training. Regular engagement with line manager to discuss personal performance, objectives and opportunities to enhance their skills and experience to support their career potential. Is an active member of appropriate internal and external ESG and/or professional committees to further information on Weatherford's Environmental Strategy. Driving culture and change management across the organization for ESG understanding and awareness. Qualifications REQUIRED: 5-10 years or more of related professional experience, with 3-5 years specifically in carbon reduction/life cycle analysis. MS or BS degree in Environmental Engineering / sciences, or equivalent combination of training and experience. Experience leading carbon footprint reduction projects. Experience with embedding sustainability reviews into Engineering/R&D workflows, new product development and LCAs for both new and existing products and services. Proven track record in positive climate impact opportnties, net zero roadmapping, carbon reduction and data collection strategies. Experience building reputable business cases for improvements and calculating ROI, and payback periods. Ability to translate climate reductions to profit. Experience completing sustainability responses for customer RFI/RFP/RFT and contractual reviews. In depth knowledge of Environmental related reporting frameworks/standards and guidiance (GRI, SBTi, ISO, GHG Protocol) and related disclosures (e.g., CDP, GRI, Ecovadis) Strong network of Environmental professionals across the GHG modelling, LCA and regulatory space. Understanding of emissions offset strategies. Proven ability to independently manage complex projects and brief senior leadership. Highly organized with strong project management skills. Strong influencing, collaboration, verbal and written communications skills. Strong quantitative and analytical skills. Experience leading and facilitating group process and collaboration, team player. Intermediate skills at using Microsoft Office suite including 365 and Project Manager. Critical thinking/reasoning ability. Ability to collaborate with others and have good team building skills. Good presentation and facilitation skills and the ability to communicate with large groups of people. Detail-oriented and experienced in reviewing and summarizing comprehensive technical documents. Ability to multi-task, maintain flexibility, travel, and work independently with minimal supervision. PREFERRED: Experience in developing and providing training courses and programs. Experience sourcing and implementing GHG/LCI/LCA software. Green building certifications (i.e., LEED Green Associate). Preference for sustainability program development experience. Experience in developing external Environmental, HSE or Sustainability/ CSR reports. Experience in sustainability assurance projects or activities. Second language (one of the five core WFT languages).
